What we do . . .

The Friends of the Shawnee Library is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to supporting our local library and its mission. Through our efforts, we help enhance library programs, services, and resources for the entire community. Here’s how we make a difference:

  • Annual Book Sale: Each year, we organize a popular book sale that raises funds to support library initiatives.
  • Program Sponsorship: We sponsor special library programs that enrich the lives of community members of all ages.
  • Funding for Supplies: From craft materials to educational tools, we help cover the cost of supplies for various library programs.
  • Book Donations: We collect and manage donations of gently used books to benefit the library and its patrons.
  • The Book Nook: Operated year-round, the Book Nook offers a selection of gently used books for sale, with all proceeds going back to the library.
  • Staff Support: Whether it’s meeting specific needs or providing additional resources, we’re here to support the incredible library staff.

Together, we work to ensure that the Shawnee Library remains a vibrant hub of literacy, learning, and community connection.
